MYR Transient Hangar, Apron, and Taxilane Relocation

1100 Jetport Road Myrtle Beach, SC 29577

The management of the Horry County Department of Airports saw the need to construct a 20,000 square, high quality, aircraft hangar available for lease to private customers.  The Hangar was planned to be constructed immediately adjacent to the General Aviation Terminal located in the Market Common area of Myrtle Beach. Officially titled MYR Transient Aircraft Hangar, Apron and Taxilane Relocation, the hangar was put out for bid in the fall of 2018.  The Hangar itself is 20,000 square feet which includes 1,600 square feet of support rooms and a bathroom.  White floors, walls, and ceilings are highlighted by a color-changing LED lighting system.  To accommodate construction the existing taxiway was relocated which involved detailed coordination with the Department of Airports and the General Aviation Terminal to coordinate airplane traffic around construction.
